Introduction to quantum computing course

Quantum error correction part

  • Bibliography: Online resources include the course of Preskill on Quantum Error Correction. It however introduces more advanced concepts and gives less details than in the course. The introductory notes of Gilles Zémor are also very useful. Finally, I would advise to have a look at the chapter on quantum error correction in the classical book of the field: Quantum Computation and Quantum Information of M.A. Nielsen and I.L. Chuang.
  • Lecture 1: Goal of the course. Introduction to classical error correcting codes.
  • Lecture 2 (videos here): Classical error correction continued: classical linear codes, parity check matrix, syndrom and decoding.
Quantum error correction: a smooth transition from classical to quantum error correction, measuring syndrom, protecting against X errors.
